Almost as many famous faces in fashion as on the new cover of British “Vogue” can only be seen at major events like the Met Gala. The fashion magazine has now managed to bring together 40 famous women with a connection to fashion for a single shoot for a special issue.
Edward Enninful (51) says goodbye as editor-in-chief of the British fashion magazine. “The end of an era,” as it is said on the Instagram accounts of “Vogue” and Enninful. After six and a half years, the 76th and final issue of the editor-in-chief will be published on February 13th. During this time, 153 cover stars were photographed – including “the 40 legendary women” who can now be seen together on the cover.
The numerous stars featured on the cover include model icons, actresses and singers. In addition to Oprah Winfrey, Naomi Campbell, Miley Cyrus, Salma Hayek, Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Iman, Linda Evangelista, Jane Fonda, Cara Delevingne, Victoria Beckham and Irina Shayk, Serena Williams, Christy Turlington, Laverne Cox and Gemma Chan are among others , Selma Blair, Anya Taylor-Joy, Dua Lipa, Cindy Crawford and their daughter Kaia Gerber pictured.
The cover and other images for the latest issue were taken in Manhattan last December. The stars came from London, Milan, Los Angeles and Paris. The fact that so many celebrities actually get together for a shoot also seems to have surprised Cyrus. “It takes months to get one of these women on a cover. To get 40? Unique,” she is quoted as saying in another Instagram post.
