The actor Charly Hübner justified his exit from the television crime series “Polizeiruf 110” with the character of the investigator Sascha Bukow, who he played. The 50-year-old told the “Ostsee-Zeitung” that he still didn’t want to play this “roughneck” at the age of 55.
“That was no longer true for me as a player.” He noticed, “Now I have to move on as a player or as a person,” said a report on Sunday.
After almost twelve years, Hübner appeared as Bukow for the last time at the beginning of last year in the Rostock edition of the “Polizeiruf”. Together with his LKA colleague Katrin König (Anneke Kim Sarnau), he was one of the most popular investigator couples on German television.
“Bukow was in his late 30s when we started it,” said Hübner of “OZ”. The figure was also developed for that time. It was about looking inwards and topics such as corruption in the police, but also dealing with the turnaround around 20 years later. Since then, a lot has changed politically, too, said the native of Neustrelitz. “I got older, my colleagues got older.” He didn’t want to play someone who is angry that he can’t run as fast anymore.
