The Royal Event of the Year is coming up tomorrow, May 6th. King Charles III (74) is crowned in London’s Westminster Abbey. His younger son Prince Harry (38) should also attend the ceremony on site in his old home. As reported by British media, including the tabloid “The Sun”, a private jet landed at Farnborough Airport, near London, on Friday. It is believed that Harry was on board.
A reporter from the “Bild” newspaper also saw a car driving to Buckingham Palace at noon, and Harry could have been in it. According to a report in the daily newspaper, a police officer in front of the palace confirmed that Charles’ son was said to be in the vehicle.
Arriving early could allow Charles and Harry to speak before the coronation. The royal’s relationship with his brother, Prince William (40), and with his father is considered tense. Since moving to the United States in 2020, Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan (41), have criticized the royal family in several interviews, a Netflix documentary and in “Reserve”, the prince’s autobiography.
Meghan will not be there, regardless of whether Harry is already on British soil or is yet to land. The palace has confirmed, following speculation, that Charles’ son will attend the celebrations, but his wife and children, Prince Archie, 3, and Princess Lilibet, 1, will remain in California. Little Archie celebrates his fourth birthday on May 6th.
Among other things, the British BBC shows how Charles greeted onlookers before his big day on the boulevard “The Mall”, including Royal fans who had traveled from Thailand and the USA. His eldest son William and his wife, Princess Kate (41), also showed up to those who had traveled.
On Saturday morning, the king and his wife, Queen Camilla (75), will be taken by carriage in a procession along the “Mall”, through Trafalgar Square, further along Whitehall and Parliament Street to Westminster Abbey. There Charles is crowned. This is followed by another, even more magnificent procession, which takes the opposite route back to the palace. More than 6,000 men and women from the British Armed Forces will take part in the coronation celebrations. It is the largest ceremonial military operation in 70 years.
