“The Flight Attendant” is apparently not getting a sequel. According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, the series with leading actress Kaley Cuoco was canceled after two seasons on the streaming service Max. The last of these two seasons aired in spring 2022.
“The Hollywood Reporter”, citing unnamed sources, reports that Max was considering a third season of “The Flight Attendant”, but ultimately leading actress and producer Cuoco decided against returning to the role.
Based on a novel by Chris Bohjalian, “The Flight Attendant” revolves around Cassie (Kaley Cuoco), a flight attendant with a drinking problem who finds a dead man in her hotel bed and quickly becomes the investigators’ sights as a suspect. After the great success of the first season, the series was continued. In season two, Cassie acts as a secret service agent. In this country, the series is available on Prime Video.
Kaley Cuoco said in a statement, which was also reported by “People” magazine, among others: “I always imagined TFA as a limited series, and thanks to an incredible creative team, we managed to deliver two exciting seasons.” She added that for her personally, it was “a dream come true” to play Cassie, “and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped bring this wildly original series to life.”
For Kaley Cuoco, “The Flight Attendant” was her first big coup after “The Big Bang Theory.” She played one of the main roles in the cult sitcom from 2007 to 2019. After the series ended, she had to say goodbye to waitress Penny, who kept the life of the nerd clique around Sheldon (Jim Parsons) busy. Cuoco can currently be seen in the film “Role Play” opposite David Oyelowo.
