Double honor for Sandra Hülser (45): The German actress is nominated in two categories for the British Film Academy (BAFTA) Awards. Hülser has a chance of winning a coveted film award both as best leading actress in the French legal drama “Anatomy of a Case” and as best supporting actress in the British historical film “The Zone of Interest”. The British film award is considered a kind of European Oscar and will be awarded in London on February 18th.
After her nomination at the Golden Globes, Hülser has a chance of winning the BAFTA Award in two categories at the British film awards. As expected, she is fighting against strong competition in the best actress category: In addition to Hülser, Margot Robbie (33) is nominated for “Barbie” and Emma Stone (35) is nominated for her role in “Poor Things”. In the “Best Supporting Actress” category, Hülser will be up against Emily Blunt (40) for “Oppenheimer,” among others. “Anatomy of a Case” is also nominated for best picture alongside “The Holdovers,” “Oppenheimer,” “Poor Things” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
Can Sandra Hülser cheer this time? The theater and film actress from Suhl ultimately came away empty-handed at the Golden Globes. At the same time, in 2023 she was awarded, among other things, the award for best actress at the European Film Prize. With her high-ranking nominations for the most coveted film awards on the planet, she has finally arrived in the top league of film actresses. She may even have a chance of an Oscar nomination. These will be announced on January 23rd. The award ceremony will take place on March 10th.
