A defamation lawsuit against her ex-husband Johnny Depp (60) degenerated into a public mud fight last year. This is now behind Amber Heard (37), who, according to a media report, is hopeful about her professional future.
The US actress recently made her comeback at the Italian Taormina Film Fest. It was her first major public appearance since the trial. She also celebrated the premiere of her latest film “In The Fire” at the festival. “Thank you for such an incredibly warm reception of my latest film ‘In The Fire’ at the Taormina Film Festival,” Heard wrote on Instagram. It was an “unforgettable weekend” for the 37-year-old.
As with the filming of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”, which is planned for December 2023, Heard was in front of the camera for “In the Fire” before the defamation trial. According to a report by the US magazine “People”, the actress, who has been quite quiet in recent months, has allegedly not yet accepted a new role. But an anonymous insider said she was “hopeful she’ll get projects.” The film’s director, Conor Allyn, recently told the magazine: “Amber has an incredibly bright future ahead of her.”
After the mud fight, Heard was said to have been stressed, but now she is “much better”, as it is now said. According to another insider, Johnny Depp has also “closed the chapter”. Heard has meanwhile moved her center of life to Spain. There she was able to draw new energy “and concentrate on things she loves”. She was “very happy” in Spain, as she explained to a reporter for the US celebrity portal “TMZ” in mid-June.
In the spring of 2022, Heard and her ex-husband faced each other in court. The Hollywood star had sued her for defamation. The jury found Depp correct on most of the charges. In December 2022, the two agreed to a settlement. Heard agreed to pay her ex-husband $1 million. He donated the money to various charities.
