To Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel, the european Union must be ready to face a new pandemic. Several european leaders, including the French president and the German chancellor, have agreed that the EU had not been at the height of the face of the Covid-19, and have asked him Tuesday, June 9, to be studied with the means to better prepare for the next pandemic.

With Emmanuel Macron, and Angela Merkel, the Polish Mateusz Morawiecki, the Spanish Pedro Sanchez, the Belgian Sophie Wilmes and the Danish Mette Frederiksen have signed on to this letter. The text highlights the lack of medical equipment which have been faced by the Europeans. “Understanding the shortcomings is essential”, say the signatories. They also request better coordination for the collection and processing of data, so that the figures are comparable from one State to the other. The heads of State and government of the 27 member States of the EU must take the 19 June a virtual meeting to discuss the aftermath of the pandemic.
