You two run a large conglomerate of organic chicken farms. Did you inherit a farm and had to become farmers? Annalina: We are the fifth generation of an egg trading family. Our great-great-grandfather rode his bike around the Lüneburg Heath, bought surplus eggs from the farms and sold them at the Hamburg markets. Our great-grandfather and grandfather did the same. They were traders, not breeders. We didn’t grow up on a farm. Our father is a businessman and only later got into the egg trade and poultry farming.
