One looks in vain for an electric car in Suzuki’s already manageable range of models. There’s the cool Jimny and classics like Swift, Ignis or Vitara – but that’s about it. Recently, the Japanese have offered two twin models of the Toyota RAV4 and Corolla, the Swace and Across vehicles, which are hybridized. In 2025, the production version of the eVX is to be followed by the first purely electric vehicle – a compact all-wheel drive crossover with typical Suzuki genes.
The 4.30 meter long Suzuki eVX has now celebrated its world premiere at the Auto Expo in India, the most important market for the Japanese. The electric eVX concept is supplied with energy on both axles by a 60 kWh battery, which should ensure a range of 550 kilometers before the next charging stop. Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, said: “I am pleased to present the eVX concept as a preview of our first global and strategically important electric model. “The fight against global warming is a top priority for Suzuki. That’s why we’re promoting a range of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, we will continue to offer our customers worldwide high-quality products that are optimized for their respective lifestyles and driving styles.”
