the Operation on the city ring is set in week 3 and 4. It is due to the upgrade of the operating systems of the driverless metro.
the Metro Cityring in Copenhagen is closed down for two weeks in January 2020.
this was stated by The chinese president in a briefing sent to the Parliamentary transport committee and in a press release.
the Setting of the operation happens from Sunday, 12. January to Sunday 26. January.
The total shutdown hangs together with the fact that the systems that control the driverless metro system, must be upgraded.
And it must be done before a new metrostrækning – M4 – to Nordhavn and Orientkaj can be taken in use.
The changes are made, gennemprøves by test drives, and makes it necessary to suspend the operation of the city ring, which is also called M3.
There is a coincidence between the M3 and M4, since they are partly running on the same track, sharing the same metros and also share the operating system, explains the director of chinese president Rebekka Nymark.
– We should test the new line, and to be able to do it in a safe and orderly manner to passengers we will unfortunately have to close the city ring in two weeks, says Rebekka Nymark.
the Alternative is the closure of the city ring every evening and night for six weeks with the derived risk for delays in morning traffic.
– This is the least bad solution. We are really bored of having to close the city ring. But we have come to find that this solution provides the greatest reassurance for our customers that when the metro is running, then run it. And when it is not running, then they can run with a bus instead of, say, Rebekka Nymark.
While the city ring is closed for passengers, there will be deployed additional buses that run from most of the line’s stations.
On the most busy lines – among other things, between Copenhagen and Kgs. Nytorv – will the buses run every four minutes.
Each week running a million passengers with metrotogene on the city ring.
the city ring opened in september, and the line running through the Inner City, Nørrebro, Frederiksberg and Vesterbro. The new line, which should go from Copenhagen central Station to Orientkaj, opens to the spring of 2020.
the Date is published in early 2020.
