The ZepoRock festival returns to the town of El Toboso with more desire than ever. After a lethargy forced by the health situation, he returns with a total of nine bands and two DJs who will form a proposal that combines eclecticism with La Mancha designation of origin. Groups such as Messura, The Grooves, Ruta 57, Saturna, Bonita, The Quartet Tarantino, Vulva Loo, The Groove Trotters and The Rebel Boogie Trio will be in charge of fanning the flame of a festival that has become a benchmark for emerging music since not only from La Mancha, but from the national scene.
The seventh edition of
This initiative, which is committed to relocating and democratizing music by taking it to the rural environment, will serve as a platform for new talents who will join the list of established groups such as Aurora
On Friday the 17th, a festival kicks off with a chupinazo and musical parades, with musical-theatrical surprises on the town’s balconies, a declaration of intent on the part of the organization, in its eagerness not to stop surprising all its attendees every year.
The soul of The Groove Trotters, the vindictive and empowered rock of Vulva loo, and the “Tarantinian” and festive spirit of The Quartet Tarantino, will be in charge of kicking off the festival by taking to the streets of El Toboso and bringing live music from places icons of the town to the festival site, where after the concerts the resident DJ Sticky Rice will set a grass dance floor on fire.
The green areas and the swimming pool of the Dulcinea hostel in El Toboso will vibrate again on Saturday, June 18, with a program that will last throughout the day and that will be aimed at all audiences. It will begin with a focus on the little ones, who will enjoy family workshops for children, a clown show, face painting and the swimming pool, which will remain open from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m., the exhibition of the creative music school of Alcázar de San Juan and the dancer Rocío Molina, who will revive the 60s with a group twist class, will put an end to a morning with the ‘Zepokids’ as protagonists.
It will be in the afternoon when the concerts will be chained from 7:00 p.m. until dawn, with proposals from bands like Messura, which since its formation in Logroño in 2017 has been growing and consolidating itself as one of the main hopes of rock in Castilian. The cheeky bet of The Grooves, for electro-rock and the most elegant dance, will present their latest and incendiary LP ‘Heroica’ at ZepoRock. The most combative funk-rock will come from Madrid’s Ruta 57, who will make a stop at El Toboso as part of their tour ‘“Mamá voy a comer de esto’. From Barcelona, Saturna’s fusion of seventies rock, stoner, blues and psychedelia is another of the festival’s big bets, an old-school rock band, capable of dishing out strident riffs and forceful rhythms, but thrilling with the sensitivity of their compositions. The La Mancha icing on this cake will be the zeporra fusion of Castilian-La Mancha folk and psyco-rock, with which Bonita takes folklore to another dimension, a flash of lightning in the La Mancha steppe. An eclectic day that will culminate as always with the session of resident DJ Reputo, shaking his musical cocktail shaker mixing all kinds of styles with electronics.
Tickets are on sale at an advance price of 20 euros through its website and at https: //entradium.com/events/zeporock-festival-2022
On Sunday the 18th, the festival will put an end to a grand finale: wine tasting with La Mancha denomination of origin, tasting of typical products from the area and its now traditional vermouth concert, with The Rebel Boogie Trio reinterpreting rockabilly, country and rhythm classics.
