Some time ago there was suddenly a radiator in my parents’ living room. “How did he get here?” I asked. “I got it from the attic,” said my father. “Are you insane?” I blurted out. “You just got a new hip, take it easy and climb into the attic?” He finds it difficult to accept that at his age he should no longer do some things and should seek help. My mother and in-laws feel the same way.
