The Champions League final is almost here to decide who will be the new king of Europe in 2022. This year, Real Madrid and Liverpool will face each other in an exciting final where they will put an end to a European season full of surprises.

Both teams will revalidate in this game one of the greatest rivalries in history on the pitch. Both the ‘reds’ and the ‘whites’ are two of the teams that have won the most titles in the history of the competition: 13 for Real Madrid and 6 for Jurguen Klopp’s team.

It will also be the third time that these two teams will face each other in the Champions League final. They already did it in 1981, in a game in which Liverpool won 1-0, while the last time, in 2018, it was the white team who ended up taking the game 3-1.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team did not have the easiest path to reach the Champions League final. Real Madrid based their climb on the basis of historic comebacks in practically all of their knockout matches against the likes of PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City. Some games that, on almost all occasions, ended up deciding in the last minutes of the game.

On the other hand, Liverpool did not have it easy either: Jurguen Klopp’s team, led by its star Salah, eliminated Inter Milan and Benfica and had to deal with a feisty Villarreal in the semifinals who dreamed for a few minutes of standing in the Champions League final.

But when is the 2022 Champions League final held? This will be the day we meet the champion of the highest competition in European football.
