Members of the Civil Guard yesterday afternoon located a 90-year-old man who disappeared hours before from the Burgos town of Nebreda. He was found conscious, trapped in a juniper, in an isolated area of Tordueles, according to sources from the armed institute. A helicopter from the Corps joined the extensive ground operation, with patrols from the Comandancia, neighbors and volunteer firefighters from Parque de Lerma.
The facts were brought to the attention of the Civil Guard by a relative. The last time he was seen was at 12 noon that day when he was on his way to a nearby vineyard. The main hypothesis with which he worked was that he had become disoriented, without ruling out that he could have suffered some type of incident or injury that prevented him from walking and returning home.
The Burgos Command deployed from the very moment a wide search device for its location by land and air, providing all available human and material resources that remained active throughout the afternoon until its location, and to which neighbors and volunteer personnel from the Lerma Fire Station.
The helicopter of the Corps based in Agoncillo was added from the first moment to the device that beat the area on the ground to fly over it. The search started from the municipality of disappearance but as the hours passed the radius of action was extended, obtaining information on possible sightings in nearby towns.
At 7:00 p.m., the man was located, disoriented and trapped between the branches of a juniper, in an isolated area of the town of Tordueles, near the upper area of the wineries. He was assisted in the first instance and returned to the family. Although he was in apparent good health, as a precaution, he was referred to a health center for evaluation.
