The València Cup Girls (VCG) wants to contribute to this tribute, recognition and enhancement. Thus, it will promote from this 2022 edition, and it will remain as a fundamental event in the following editions of the tournament, a match between those players who marked the way, from which others later reaped fruits and that will continue to add up for the coming batches.

This match will be held on June 30, at 8:30 p.m., in one of the fields where the entire competition of the international women’s grassroots football tournament will take place, which will take place in its second edition between June 28 and 2 July 2022.

Players such as Tere Saurí, María José Casamayor ‘Gullit’, Ana Hernández ‘Petit’, Empar Broch, Ángeles Olmeda, Laura Ots, Rosa Castillo, Lucía Llano, María Fernández, Sonia Prim, Paula Arnal, Amanecer Climent, Irene Polo, Cristina Estévez, Mariví Simó or Sandra Guerrero, among other names that will be added in the near future.

The organization of this women’s youth soccer tournament is working on the preparations for a very special event as it will make the leap from last year’s edition towards an international profile. Teams from the Valencian Community, the rest of Spain and other countries will participate, which will be confirmed as the tournament draws nearer, which adds to the commitment that the region itself makes for the visibility and promotion of women’s sport, in this particularly with soccer.

The tournament will be divided into four age categories: Girls Under 12 (G12), Girls Under 14 (G14), Girls Under 16 (G16), and Girls Under 19 (G19). Sportingly, the tournament is divided into two phases: A first phase in which groups of four teams will be formed in each category, which will play among themselves by the league system. And a final phase, both play off A and play off B, in which elimination rounds will be played until the winners are defined. In this way, each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of four games. Within the framework of the first edition in 2021, actions linked to the social responsibility of the tournament have already been developed together with Levante UD and the Valencia CF Foundation. On the one hand, the visibility of adapted football was given by Levante UD EDI, with an exhibition match being played between the Levante UD EDI women’s team and a team of Valencian women from the fields of sport, business and politics. On the other hand, there was an action with Escoles Cor Blanquinegre of the Valencia CF Foundation with the celebration of a match between players who are members of this corporate social responsibility initiative, within the VCF Foundation, aimed at teachers of certain schools and care centers minors, located in neighborhoods of Valencia and towns in the province with a complicated social context.

Levante UD Women, in category G12 (youngsters-youngsters), Valencia CF Féminas, in G16 (children-cadets), and Tavernes Blanques, in G (from 16 years old) were proclaimed champion teams of the first edition of the València Cup Girls, which successfully closed the organization of a women’s football tournament that registered the participation of 530 footballers in 2021.

The event hosted a total of 65 matches in three days, with the participation of 17 clubs from the three provinces of the Valencian Community and about thirty teams from the different categories (three). The Valencia Cup Girls took place in five municipal facilities in the city of Valencia: four of them in the Jardín del Turia (Tram II Football Field, Pont Pont de Fusta, Camp de Serrans and Camp de L’Exposició) and in the Camp of Soccer of the Sports center Four Races. In all these facilities, he rolled the Molten ball of the Valencian company Luanvi, technical collaborator of the sporting event.

The Valencia Cup Girls, organized by the Sportea Association in collaboration with the Valencia City Council, and subsidized by the Valencia Provincial Council and the Sports Community of the Generalitat Valenciana Department of Sports, is a sporting and social event that works for the visibility of women’s sport from the framework of football, which includes fundamental values ​​such as camaraderie, fair play, training, healthy competitiveness and personal experiences. It has an international character and works to have teams from the entire Valencian Community, given its roots and roots, from the rest of Spain and from various countries in the world.

In addition, the València Cup Girls is also signified with the clear idea of ​​promoting sports tourism, generating overnight stays with the teams and accompanying persons participating in the tournament.
