The mayor of Talavera, Tita García Élez, has announced the complete replacement of the track of the Primero de Mayo sports center, an “essential and necessary” action in which some 300,000 euros will be invested. It is expected to be held during the summer with the “intention that Soliss Futsal Talavera start the season with the new track.”
The councilor from Talavera has explained that the problem of humidity is going to be solved, since, in addition to removing and replacing the pavement with a new one, a treatment is going to be carried out on the concrete floor with a waterproofing treatment so that this humidity returns To appear.
The last phase of these works will be the replacement of the track with a floating platform, which has characteristics in accordance with the approval by the sports federations.
A “good news, expected and necessary” not only for this club, but “for the entire city of Talavera”, because more than 300 people pass by every day on May Day, schoolchildren from centers that use the track or clubs, such as the Talavera Rhythmic Expression, who train and compete in this pavilion. Said the mayor, who visited the track this morning with the president of Soliss FS Talavera, Santiago Ramos, and the Councilor for Sports in Equality, Sergio Gutiérrez.
García Élez has stated that improvement, repair and conditioning work has been carried out in this sports center since the beginning of the legislature, “from the smallest to the largest”, as this replacement of the pavement will be, as reported by the City Council in a press release. He recalled the improvement in the furniture, the removal of humidity and paint in the changing rooms, painting in rooms and exterior and interior elements of the installation, replacement of the electronic scoreboard, change of the boiler to guarantee hot water to visitors or the repair of the problems that caused leaks.
