The Carranque government team has assured that it “completely” rejects the celebration of a caravan of women in the municipality, assuring that the owner of the premises in which it was to be held has decided to suspend it ‘motu proprio’ after knowing the feeling of the City Council in this regard.
As reported by the city council in a press release, the celebration of this activity supposes “a macho and archaic attitude”, pointing out that “the reference made to the repopulation of the area is a totally anachronistic fact, this type of attitude disfigures the image de Carranque, this not being the true face of our municipality».
“From the Government team we fight for equality between men and women, without any distinction and of course without a special use on any sex, we all have a place in our municipality”, they have insisted.
Likewise, they have affirmed that they were aware this Thursday that said activity was going to be held, since as it is a private activity, the city council does not have the power to authorize or reject its celebration. “But yes to show our rejection,” they added.
