MADRID, 19 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The 5th Stevedoring Framework Agreement for the regulation of labor relations in the port stevedoring sector will enter into force this Thursday, May 19, after its publication this Wednesday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The agreement was signed on April 8, 2022 between the National Association of Stevedoring Companies and Ship Agents (Anesco), on behalf of the companies in the sector, and the State Coordinator of Sea Workers (CETM), UGT and CC. OO., on behalf of the affected labor group.

The General Director of Labor, Verónica Martínez Barbero, signs this document published in the BOE, in which she orders the registration of the collective agreement in the corresponding register of collective agreements, collective labor agreements and equality plans.

Among other provisions, the text sets the maximum annual working day at 1,826 hours, excess time as overtime, minimum vacation of 30 calendar days, or establishes minimum professional training, all of this until December 31, 2025, the date until which this agreement will take effect.

For the general coordinator of CETM, Antolín Goya, it is “an important day for the entire stevedoring sector in Spain” and recalls the work that has been carried out throughout this period with a “complicated negotiation, a trade union struggle and the unwavering commitment of the negotiating commission”.

“Now we have the tool to give stability to the sector, which must give a clear future to the profession, always with the commitment to continue fighting, working as a union and with port-to-port negotiation,” he added.
