The plenary session of the Nambroca City Council has decided to give the municipal library the name of ‘Juan Sánchez’ “for his contribution to extolling the culture of our people and the region.”

An initiative that went ahead last May and that is fair, since Juan Sánchez (director of the Library of Castilla-La Mancha from December 2012 to September 2017), was a native of this town of almost 5,000 inhabitants, located about 10 kilometers from Toledo. In addition, this decision is very wise due to his enormous love for libraries, for which he fought, with tenacity and with words throughout most of his life.

“Juan Sánchez died in September 2019, but I am convinced that those of us who knew him will not forget him for a long time,” says journalist Enrique Sánchez Lubián.
