Episode nine, the “Dream Dates” are coming up. RTL didn’t want to ship the remaining candidates and the bachelor’s degree to the other end of the world this time, so they chose a destination that was easily accessible from Mexico: Brazil. The problem: Rio’s beach isn’t massively different now than the beach in Mexico (travel pundits, please don’t smack us now). Paris, the Galapagos Islands, New York or Iceland – that would have been nicer after the leisurely weeks by the pool.

Even Bachelor David seems bored. He’s supposed to tell us patient viewers the exciting aspects of Rio de Janeiro, but all he can think of is football and Ronaldo, and he doesn’t feign real enthusiasm. The corners of the mouth hang somewhat listlessly halfway up. And then RTL also arranges the first reunion in the new country in – “a real favela”. Ouch.

At least the ladies are enthusiastic. Henriette, Angelina, Chiara and Lisa find the drive in the Bulli through the narrow streets of the district “so cool” and “so awesome” and “quite intense”. When the five of us meet again, there is – of course – the usual coconut schnapps. With a view of the metropolis from above, David allows the women the usual five-minute chat. Henriette admits to the bachelor that he didn’t think she was that great at first. He would have liked to address Chiara to Rebecca’s allegation from last week: that she was acting in front of the camera and that she was really different. But: David doesn’t dare.

After the lame debut, things (hopefully) really get going with the first real dream date. Angelina is lucky enough to get on a yacht with David. With a glass of sparkling wine, they cruise around under the cloudy sky of the city. David cheekily pats Angelina on the butt and she doesn’t seem sooo excited now, even though she covers it up with a polite giggle. The two still have to kiss, for the cameras. Also at the subsequent picnic on the promenade.

And then… is it over already? Didn’t the traditional overnight stays always belong to the Dream Dates? Kind of… kind of that was very disappointing. David then drives the tram with rap journalist Chiara and sits in a café. Is this a dream date? Well, honestly, this is a… date. After all, he finally addresses Rebecca’s announcement. Chiara blocks everything snotty, of course, and also reveals to David her former desire to take part in “Bachelorette”. But that is not the reason why she is now a candidate. It seems okay for David.

Then they both walk through the narrow streets of Riosöpß0, past a cat. AND NO ONE PETS HER. David, Chiara, what kind of people are you? How can you meet a cat and not pet it?! The two of them wander through the favela to a pretty house made of mosaic stones, which Chiara calls “so Salvador Dalí-esque”, although it looks absolutely nothing like Salvador Dalí. After all, there is finally kissing.

David actually wanted to fly hang-gliders with Henriette – unfortunately the Brazilian weather is against it. It probably thinks so much action would surprise viewers too much now that you’ve nodded away so nicely. Because it’s too windy, the bachelor and the patent Hamburg native drive a jeep. In the end, the two sit back on the beach. Everything as always. At least Henriette makes it clear to him that she doesn’t want any children for the next five years. At the same time, David doesn’t look as if he wants to have offspring right away, so he’s completely relaxed.

Henriette asks meaningful questions and talks about her last relationship. But when she asks David about his last girlfriend, he foolishly evades. “Whoa, that’s a bad example,” he squirms. um, okay? At the end he says goodbye to her with a friendly “Thank you for your time.” yes good We’ll get in touch. Best regards.

Last but not least: travel friend Lisa. David wants to fly helicopters with her. No problem for the action-hungry brunette – together the two circle around the famous statue of Christ in a helicopter. The problem: As a real travel enthusiast, Lisa takes the view and the experience so seriously that there is little time left for cuddling with the bachelor. Luckily, after landing, RTL set up a couch for the two in the nearest parking lot where they can catch up. Lisa is then, at least we think so, the only one who seems to really want to kiss and fondle David.

The bachelor, however, turns out to be the life coach again and talks about a future “where you learn and grow together”. Yeah, David. But first he has to prepare himself mentally to kick out one of the women after everyone has arrived back in Germany. He has to hand out roses again and announces that next week there will only be three women on home dates. Now it’s finally getting a little exciting!

In the end, Lisa and Angelina are on – and Chiara. “Home dates! We’re going to Soest!” She screeches in relief. Henriette is out with it, it was probably a little too sensible for the bachelor’s degree.
