The Ministry of Education advances this course the extraordinary classes of the educational success program to the month of June for 4th ESO students. Specifically, they will be held in June, from the 1st to the 21st of this month and outside of school hours, so that students can prepare for final exams.

All students who, in the opinion of the teaching team, have not acquired the objectives and skills of this stage and must take the final tests on June 22 and 23, may participate. It will consist of teaching one hour a day of Spanish Language and Literature, Academic Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and English, depending on the needs of the student.

For their part, students in the 6th year of Primary Education who need to reinforce Spanish Language and Literature, Mathematics or English to successfully face the Secondary Education stage, will receive one hour a day in each of these areas throughout the month of July, as in previous years.

All classes will be taught by teachers and professors who are specialists in the subjects, from the centers themselves or contracted specifically for this program. In both cases, to constitute the groups, in rural areas, it will be necessary for there to be a minimum of seven students and a maximum of 15, and, in urban areas, a minimum of ten students and a maximum of 20. Participating students may benefit from the aid for school transport that is convened in October 2022.

The department led by Rocío Lucas highlights that Castilla y León was the first autonomous community to implement a Program for the Improvement of Educational Success in Spain. Now, after the reforms carried out by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in terms of evaluation and promotion in the Secondary stage – there will be no recoveries in the month of September and in the Community the students will have the option to do so in the month of June -, the Junta de Castilla y León has decided to modify some of its lines of action to continue “increasing graduation rates and reducing early school leaving,” the Ministry details in a statement.

The Official Gazette of Castilla y León (Bocyl) collects this Tuesday two resolutions detailing the novelties of the measures for students in the 6th year of Primary Education and for the 4th year of Compulsory Secondary Education.

“The Program for the Improvement of Educational Success has contributed over the years to a significant number of students in the Community being promoted from the course,” the same sources indicate. Likewise, “both families and teachers positively value these extraordinary voluntary and free classes.” 88% of the parents whose children have attended the summer measures express their satisfaction with them, a percentage that rises to 90% with respect to the teachers who participated in the extraordinary classes of 4th year of ESO, considering it effective.
