This Wednesday took place in the cloister of La Colegial de Talavera the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Ella’, which comes from the Delegation of Faith and Culture of the Archbishopric of Toledo, which will be open to the public until June 17 and It can be visited from Wednesday to Sunday in the morning and afternoon.
Together with the provicar general, Raúl Muelas, and the curator of the exhibition, Pilar Gordillo, the deputy mayor, Montserrat Muro, and the councilor for Tourism, Crafts and Commerce, María Jesús Pérez, among others, attended the event. There, the more than 30 works by 25 artists that have been compiled for this exhibition of images of the Virgin Mary seen from contemporary art, through disciplines such as painting, sculpture or photography, have been visited.
Muro has valued a sample that extols the figure of the Virgin as “mother, companion and refuge” with a more avant-garde interpretation, but that preserves the essence of artistic tradition. Likewise, he has referred to the temple of the basilica of Nuestra Señora del Prado, where the Talaverans have that place of worship and prayer with the Perpetual Patron of the city.
