‘It was a dark and stormy night,’ sounds again and again in The Nattergales ‘The Julekalender’.

the christmas calendar is from 1991, but the weather forecast is here 28 years later about the same. After a sunny Saturday we get, unfortunately, a second Sunday of advent with lots of rain and heavy wind.

It gets a little warmer, with temperatures around the 10 degrees, on the other hand, on average seven millimeters of rainfall, saith the DMI’s Mette Wagner, who, however, will not extend so far as to call it the whirlwind.

“It will be windy conditions. We have had beautiful sun today (Saturday, red.). In the night there comes a new frontsystem in with rain and wind. We get strong winds to gale force winds, it gets worst along the west coast of jutland, but there will also be periods when one is on Zealand will feel that it is really, really bad,” Mette says Wagner.

“It experienced the different. If you are on the west coast in heavy gales, it can feel like a gentle breeze, while you are in Copenhagen, which will call the pelikanstorm,” she adds.

But then, if you live f.ex. in Esbjerg and had planned the big julegaveindkøbstur Sunday, so it’s on with a good raincoat.

“You should probably use a stormparaply,” says Mette Wagner, yet is hard to assess whether gråvejret end up with a white christmas the 24. december.

“Right now it looks quite mild out, so it seems that there will be snow. Maybe a little and very short-lived frost here and there – and perhaps most in the north – but it doesn’t look like it.”

She sees nothing unusual in the relatively high temperatures.

“of Course, it is nice and warm by 10 degrees in december, but it seems I often, we see.”

The coming week will be not so rainy, but the gray and dreary weather continues.

Friday the 13. december expect to the all wet place with up to 12 millimeters of rainfall.
