Due to a security-related incident, Terminal 1 at Munich Airport was temporarily evacuated early in the evening. At around 4:30 p.m., a person from the public area of the airport got into the security area, said a federal police spokesman. That’s why a search was underway for the person.
Whenever a person enters the security area in an uncontrolled manner, the terminal building must be evacuated. The building will then be searched and then released again. Ultimately, the person they were looking for was not discovered. According to the police spokesman, the closure was lifted after about two and a half hours.
According to the Federal Police, the action affected almost 2,000 people. The building was not used as much in the evenings. However, there were a few delays.
