Presumably drunk and without a driver’s license, a 23-year-old caused a car accident in Furtwangen in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald-Baar district), in which he and a 19-year-old were seriously injured. It was only about two hours later on Sunday that a cyclist who happened to be passing by discovered the crashed car and the critically injured man and woman. He called 911, police said on Monday. Both injured people lay next to the car.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the road, fell down an embankment and finally came to rest in a meadow. A doctor determined that the man and woman had probably drunk alcohol beforehand, so blood was taken from both of them.
