A 38-year-old driver was killed in a traffic accident in Haltern am See in the Recklinghausen district on Thursday afternoon. According to initial investigations, the man got into the oncoming lane in a left-hand bend and collided head-on with an oncoming truck, said the police in Recklinghausen. Despite all rescue efforts, he died at the scene of the accident. The 60-year-old truck driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The exact cause of the accident was initially unclear.
