Recipe for grandma’s endive salad:
Ingredients:
1 endive salad
1 small onion(s)
150 g bacon, cut into cubes
2EL Essig
3EL Ol
1 pinch(s) salt and pepper
Preparation:
Cut the endive into fine strips and wash. Then place the lettuce in warm water. This removes the bitter substances from the lettuce and makes it milder.
In the meantime, peel the onion and cut into fine cubes. Fry the bacon cubes in a pan until crisp, without adding any fat. For the salad dressing, mix all the other ingredients together and season to taste.
Spin the lettuce dry, mix with the diced onions and the salad dressing. Finally add the bacon cubes and enjoy.
