The Spanish government was like, “Oh snap, we need to have a crisis meeting ASAP.” So, like, millions of people in Spain, Portugal, and parts of France were left in the dark on Monday because of some mysterious grid issue, according to the Spanish government.
They were all, “We gotta fix this, like, right now.” Red Eléctrica, the company that runs the electricity grid in Spain, said they’re busting their butts to get the power back on in mainland Spain and Portugal. They were all, “Don’t worry, we got this.”
In a statement on their website, Red Eléctrica said they should have everything up and running again within six to 10 hours. Power was already coming back on in some areas, so that’s good news.
Meanwhile, people were told to stay home and chill while emergency generators were being set up. The authorities were like, “Don’t go out, just hang tight.”
Red Eléctrica was all, “We’re on it, guys. We’ll figure out what went wrong and fix it.” They were working with other companies in the industry to get things back to normal.
The airports weren’t closed, but there were mad delays. Lisbon Airport was like, “We’re the worst hit, sorry folks.” Barcelona and Madrid airports weren’t doing much better.
