After the fatal shots at a 34-year-old in Hanover, investigators caught a 22-year-old suspect. The man was arrested on Wednesday evening with the participation of special forces in an apartment in Hamelin, the police and the Hanover public prosecutor said. He is suspected of having shot the 34-year-old several times at a light rail station in the Döhren district on February 28. The victim succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The background to the crime was initially unclear. Witnesses initially thought the unknown shooter, who fled on foot after the crime, was a minor. The 22-year-old should be brought before the magistrate on Thursday.
