A shunting locomotive hit a car at a level crossing in Erbach (Odenwaldkreis) late on Sunday evening. The transition is secured with half barriers and light signals, said a spokesman for the federal police in Frankfurt. Whether the barriers were open during the accident is the subject of the ongoing investigation. The 25-year-old driver was not injured, the spokesman said on Monday. The locomotive therefore bumped into the passenger side of the car.
