On one of the terraces of the Real Club Náutico de Sangenjo, Pedro Campos, president of the entity and host of Don Juan Carlos during his stay in the municipality of Pontevedra, attended this Thursday, one after another, dozens of television stations that have attended the town on the occasion of the temporary return of the King Emeritus to Spain: “I must have already been more than fifty this morning,” Campos himself explained to ABC at the end of an exhausting round of interviews on the roof.
Sources from the Real Club Náutico have detailed to this newspaper that, for this weekend’s regatta in which, if he is well, Don Juan Carlos could participate, more than 200 journalists from a hundred media have already confirmed their presence, both local as well as national and international.
“And surely many more appear that have not been accredited,” predict the organizers. Most of the journalists who will attend are national, but there will also be European media, including French, German or British, as explained by the club.
Don Juan Carlos returns to Spain after 22 months, and, albeit temporarily, the media expectation is evident: live television connections from the Real Náutico, epicenter of the regattas this weekend, and journalists and photographers standing guard at the Peinador airport, in Vigo, where the King Emeritus lands. And also before the house of Pedro Campos, in Sanxenjo, where Don Juan Carlos is scheduled to spend the night. Journalists and photographers from different latitudes in search of a historical photo.
