Emergency services were contacted shortly after midnight for a burning van parked near a residential building on Rheaume Road near Cardinal Street.

If the firefighters quickly brought the flames under control, there are elements to believe that it is an arson fire, according to a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

A suspicious vehicle was seen leaving the scene at the start of the fire, when the investigation was transferred to the Sûreté du Québec.

A fire scene technician will be dispatched to the scene during the day to try to establish the causes and the exact circumstances of the event, it was added.

Police have not confirmed whether this fire has any connection with the other vehicle targeted by arson almost at the time in the neighboring municipality of Saint-Isidore.
