The police in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania warn against the consumption of blue ecstasy pills of the “Blue Punisher” type. The background to this is severe symptoms of intoxication in several consumers, one young person died as a result of consuming the drug.
“We therefore warn against any use of narcotics, but especially against the dangerous pill called ‘Blue Punisher’,” the officials said. They contain a very high dose of the active ingredient MDMA. Even taking half a tablet can be life-threatening.
On Monday afternoon, a 13-year-old girl from Altentreptow (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district) died in the Neubrandenburg clinic after consuming a “Blue Punisher” pill (the star reported). Another teenager was found on a sidewalk in “poor health” on Monday evening and was also taken to the hospital. “Blue Punisher” consumption was also proven with her. The 14-year-old is in “very critical condition,” the police said on Tuesday. A 15-year-old consumer, on the other hand, is on the mend again. The police are aware of other cases of young consumers.
“After the first extensive investigations, we assume that the pill is spreading in the greater Neubrandenburg area and that the dealers give or sell these dangerous drugs to children and young people,” the investigators said. According to the information, four suspects aged 16, 17, 17 and 37 were arrested on Monday evening. They are accused of trafficking and passing on narcotics to minors. Drugs, cash and revolver ammunition were seized from the men.
The investigations must now be carried out at high pressure, said Mecklenburg Health Minister Stefanie Drese, according to the DPA news agency. Clarity is needed as soon as possible in order to arrest the “inhuman” perpetrators. “Please refrain from buying and taking drugs and tell your family and friends about the dangers of the pills that may still be in circulation,” appealed the SPD politician.
Ecstasy (main active ingredient MDMA) is known as a party drug, but it is extremely dangerous. It leads to flights of fancy, sociability and loss of sense of time. The body’s own warning system is switched off. This can result in extreme water loss, organ damage or circulatory collapse, but also in fatal kidney failure and cerebral hemorrhage. Psychoses and warning ideas have also been observed.
The Blue Punisher variant are diamond-shaped pills with a skull engraved on them. The drug information center in Zurich regularly examines the composition of ecstasy pills. It also expressly warns against “Blue Punisher”, among other things because of the “extremely high dose” MDMA content and unknown added substances.
