The filling and packaging system manufacturer Krones continues to benefit from a flood of orders. After record sales in the first half of the year, the strong demand continued in the third quarter, the SDax company announced on Friday in Neutraubling. For this reason, the Executive Board had already raised its sales target in October and confirmed its earnings forecast.
From July to September, the manufacturer landed new orders worth a good 1.49 billion euros, which was 30 percent more than in the already strong quarter of the previous year, it said. Sales climbed 14.7 percent to almost 1.06 billion euros.
Like many others, Krones is also struggling with the current shortage of materials, but is taking countermeasures with efficiency measures. In addition, the prices have increased. Operating profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) was 95 million euros, almost 27 percent above the previous year’s figure, and the margin rose to 9 percent. All in all, Krones earned 45.1 million euros, compared to 29.7 million a year earlier.
