The Philharmonie tent in the Port of Hamburg will open on Saturday (5 November) with a concert by the Mannheim symphonic metal band Beyond The Black. The new concert location on the grounds of the Cruise Center Steinwerder, in the middle between overseas containers, Elbe cranes and large ships, offers space for 4000 spectators, as the organizers announced. There will be concerts, shows and events in the eight-mast tent until the end of April 2023. This will close a gap in the Hamburg club landscape in the winter season, it said.
KJ Projects GmbH, a merger of Morgenwelt GmbH and Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion, is responsible for the tent philharmonic hall. Due to Corona, both partners already organized the Cruise Inn Open Air on the grounds of the Cruise Center Steinwerder in summer 2020 and 2021.
Due to the good experiences with the area, there will now also be concerts in winter. The site is very central and offers ideal production conditions in terms of noise protection, parking space and flair. In addition, it is well connected to local public transport. From the main train station it is only 8 minutes to the S-Bahn station Veddel. From here, shuttle buses drive to the front of the site – and back again.
