The president of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón, has described as shameful that «Ximo Puig diverts money from schools to set up a mansion in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia when he has 16,000 students in barracks and 70% of centers to be built», after knowing the budget modification published by the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) in relation to the purchase of the Post Office building by the Presidency of the Generalitat for 23.9 million euros.

Mazón has lamented that Puig «cuts investment in schools and housing to buy and condition an unnecessary mansion. Puig is dedicated to cutting money from the Edificant plan while there are more than 16,000 students in barracks in more than a hundred schools”, and has highlighted that “they have barely built 30% of the promised centers”.

The president of the PPCV has added that “we do not know what uses are going to be given to the Post Office building beyond being the Fallas balcony of the Generalitat, organizing self-promotion parties and setting up catering for friends.”

Mazón has indicated that “more than 23 million euros cannot be diverted in schools, housing for municipalities and sports facilities in depopulated areas to be used for purposes that have nothing to do with the initial budget.”

The leader of the popular has recalled that in seven years the left-wing tripartite “has only built 54 schools and of these, half were already started in 2015. The worst thing is that the budget modifications of the Edificant Plan are common, diverting more than 300 million euros from 2018 to other purposes than what was initially budgeted.
