Valencia will become the international capital of water from June 27 to 29. More than one hundred experts in technology and management of the water cycle, from more than forty countries, will meet in the Turia capital to discuss the main challenges in smart management, IoT technologies and the digital transformation of the industry.
For the second year, Idrica and Global Omnium will host WEX Global, which returns to Valencia to recover its face-to-face format after the pandemic. The meeting brought together more than eighty speakers in March 2020.
Focused on the potential of the circular economy, in this fifteenth edition different experts will talk about the global challenges in the water and energy sector, and their link with civil society.
All this with a vision of the future.
The debate will revolve around the digitalization of water and energy, sustainability, innovation, investment, and water security. In addition, this year two forums are introduced prior to the event, focused on marketing and the circular economy.
Idrica will have an important presence in the different panels of experts. Pilar Conejos, Digital Twin Manager, will be present at the debate on digital twins. Joan Carles Guardiola, Water Specialist, will participate in the table on the optimization of asset management. On his side, the CTO of Idrica, Pablo Alcoriza, will contribute his experience in the forum of world leaders on how technology is transforming the future of cities.
In addition, Chema Nebot, director of Business Development at Idrica, will moderate the round table on water security in Latin America and the Caribbean. Finally, Jorge Helmbrecht, Business Development Manager, will join the panel on the importance of reducing non-revenue water.
Pablo Calabuig, CEO of GoAigua US, will be one of those in charge of welcoming the attendees, together with Mark Barker, CEO of WEX Global. Elisa Valía, Councilor for the Integral Water Cycle in Valencia, and Dionisio García, CEO of Global Omnium, will also take part in the inauguration. Pablo Calabuig and Dionisio García will also join as panelists in the first debate, on digitization and climate change. Patricia Pastor, General Director of GoHub Ventures, will participate in the Innovation Forum.
On June 27, participants will have the opportunity to visit Global Omnium to learn about the most advanced digital twin operating in the water sector today. Based on Idrica’s GoAigua platform, it makes it possible to optimize daily operations and supply 1.7 million people with drinking water of constant quality 24 hours a day.
This technology, in operation since 2009, supports operational and management decisions in the metropolitan water networks of Valencia. It constantly integrates data from meters, SCADA and other systems to virtually replicate network behavior in real time, with extraordinary precision.
Valencia’s Oceanogràfic will become the setting for the prestigious WEX Global Awards. It will be at the gala dinner on June 28. World awards that recognize the best innovative solutions in different fields such as the circular use of water, decarbonisation, digital water management, financing and marketing.
