The mayor of Toledo, Milagros Tolón, has approached the outskirts of Toletum early this Tuesday morning to say goodbye to the people of Toledo who participate in the annual pilgrimage of the Hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes de Toledo. About 500 people in 12 buses make up the delegation that left this Tuesday and will remain in the French sanctuary until July 2.
Milagros Tolón, who has been accompanied by the councilor of the Government team, Marta Medina, has highlighted the importance of this pilgrimage due to the number of people from the city that it gathers and also because it highlights the commitment of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality with the support, accompaniment and service to the sick, a task that was recognized with the Tarasca of Honor by the Pro-Corpus Board during the last Big Week in Toledo.
This diocesan pilgrimage for people with disabilities and the sick that left this Tuesday from the regional capital makes the number 46 organized by this volunteer entity dependent on the Archdiocese of Toledo. An appointment that this year is experienced with special enthusiasm after having been called off in recent editions due to the pandemic.
