Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was named Premier League manager of the year by his peers on Tuesday. The Reds won the League Cup and the FA Cup and finished second in the Championship, one point behind Manchester City. They can still score the treble by beating Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.
“It’s a great honor after a crazy season. To be elected by your peers is the best,” said the German as he received his award at the Premier League Coaches Association dinner.
“When you win this kind of award, it’s either that you are a genius or that you have the best staff with you. I am with all my staff. I don’t believe in individual awards in football, it’s a team sport and I wouldn’t be anything without these guys.”
