There were fewer out-bound from Copenhagen, and more transit passengers in Copenhagen Airport in november.
Normally november is one of Copenhagen Airport’s least busy months, and this year was even better space in the airport than last year.
the Number of passengers through the airport decreased a little bit measured up to november 2018.
It is particularly the travelers, which takes off from Copenhagen on the very long and very short flights, which have been at home in years.
It shows the airport’s traffic numbers for november.
As has been the trend throughout the year, the number of passengers flying domestic, the fall.
But in november there were also fewer travelers on the long intercontinental trips to and from Copenhagen.
the Opposite was more transit passengers, who use Copenhagen Airport as a stop on their trip between two other airports.
the Decline in november is about 45,000 out of 2.2 million passengers and is thus modest 2.1 percent of the total passenger traffic.
the Airport attributes part of the decline – about two thirds – that november this year had one extra Saturday, which is traditionally a quiet day for the airport.
Take all of this year’s ten months, there is a decrease in the number of passengers from Copenhagen Airport in a little under 60.000 or the equivalent of 0.2 percent.
There are years have seen an increase in connecting passengers. If you look at the rest, dropped on about 100,000 travelers, which corresponds to 0.9 percent.
the Airport’s director, Thomas Wolbye, believes that the numbers are in fact covers over an underlying prosperity of the airport, which is obscured by some one-time occurrences.
for Example, suggests the airport’s calculations according to the Woldbye that the SAS pilots ‘ strike in a week in april and may cost the airports between 160.000 and 200.000 passengers.
Furthermore, the two low-cost airlines, Primera Air and WOW Air closed, respectively, in October last year and the summer of this year. It has according to the Woldbye pulled button 400.000 passengers out of the airport’s traffic numbers.
Last but not least, the Norwegian posted a new strategy which Copenhagen Airport fear has claimed the lives of around 485,000 japanese passengers in Copenhagen.
– Without the strikes, the bankruptcies, and the Norwegians adjustment of trafikprogrammet growth would this year have remained at around two-three percent, if one assumes that some travelers have found other options, ” says Thomas Woldbye.
– So underlying, there has been a fine progress this year, as we continue to see a fundamental good demand on air travel from passengers.
