A 19-year-old from Klötze in western Saxony-Anhalt, who has been missing since the beginning of March, is dead. Her body was discovered on Thursday near a gravel works in the Lower Saxony municipality of Bahrdorf, as the public prosecutor and the Stendal Police Inspectorate jointly announced on Friday. The site is about 40 kilometers from the young woman’s hometown.
A 42-year-old suspect was reportedly arrested. He is to be brought before a magistrate on Friday on suspicion of manslaughter. The “Bild” newspaper reported about it first.
The 19-year-old is said to have been the victim of a crime. How exactly she died was not disclosed. The exact cause of death is not yet known, and an autopsy is expected. The 42-year-old suspect has already been investigated on suspicion of manslaughter. There was initially no confession – and no body either. Therefore he could not be arrested.
The information provided by the police and the public prosecutor’s office preceded the find early on Thursday evening. The investigators had created a distance-time calculation based on the tachograph from the company vehicle of the 42-year-old suspect. Witness statements and evaluated vehicle data finally led to the location of the corpse.
According to the police, the 19-year-old was reported missing on the afternoon of March 7th. She is said to have been seen for the last time in Klötze on March 4th.
