Neighbors told CNN they heard cries for help from a home on Halifax Avenue North on Thursday afternoon (April 13). They then informed the police. Shortly after their arrival at the scene, the investigators saw a horrifying picture: the family’s four pit bulls mauled Dezmond Trawick in the backyard, several US media reported unanimously.
The police then shot at one of the animals and drove it away. The others followed him. But for the 22-year-old victim, any help came too late. The man was so badly injured by the pit bull bites that he succumbed to his injuries in hospital, writes CNN.
As “CBS News” reports, the four pit bulls were caught by the emergency services and taken to the so-called “Pets Under Police Security” facility. Animals that have been confiscated by the police are being held there. In the Brooklyn Center case, it must now be examined how to deal with the pit bulls, it is said. In any case, the owners of the dogs will have to answer in court after their return.
