According to the Ministry of Health, around 17,400 unused vaccine doses were still stored in Thuringia after the end of the state corona vaccination campaign. These are vaccines from the companies Biontech and Johnson
Vaccination against Covid-19 has now become standard care in medical practices. Shortly before Easter, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) and statutory health insurance companies had reached an agreement that regulates the remuneration of vaccinating doctors according to KV information. They now receive 15 euros per vaccination.
Since the end of 2020, the state and KV in Thuringia have operated up to 29 regional vaccination centers and four larger vaccination centers and set up mobile teams. Since then, 4.3 million Covid 19 vaccinations have been administered in Bavaria, 1.5 million of which are initial vaccinations.
At the same time, according to the ministry, 65,415 vaccine doses (as of early February) were destroyed after the expiry date had passed. This primarily affected the Moderna product (34,790 doses) and the Biontech vaccine for children aged five to eleven (20,230 doses).
