At least 14 people were injured when a group was shot in the US metropolis of Chicago on Halloween evening. Three children aged 3, 11 and 13 were among the victims, US media reported on Tuesday night (local time), citing the Chicago police. The injured were taken to various hospitals. Some of them were in mortal danger, it said.

At first little was known about the fact. Around 9 p.m., people – some in Halloween costumes – met on a street corner, police reported to the Chicago Sun Times newspaper. Then shots were fired from a moving car and a person was hit. Everything happened within a few seconds. After looking at footage from surveillance cameras, the police assumed that there were at least two shooters.

Police Chief David Brown said at a press conference, “We know it’s a drive-by. We know it’s going to happen in just a few seconds.” “It starts and then it’s over, about three seconds after passing, the car pulls out and shoots randomly, really, into the crowd,” Brown continued. According to the Chicago Police Department, up to $15,000 is being offered for information leading to an indictment or conviction in this incident.
