‘Fear not, my daughter gets shot, run down, or something else.’
this is the sound of the end of a long e-mail, as Cecilie Danris’ mother, Lisbeth Danris, in the summer of 2018 sent to Søren Pape Poulsen (Conservative) who was then minister of justice.
the E-mail was a call for help, after her daughter in the past year had felt harassed by the ex-girlfriend, who, in may of 2017 thrust her 46 times with a knife.
Lisbeth describes how ex-boyfriend on the awkward show has found Cecilies secret and politibeskyttede address from the prison, and that he also continues to send letters to her.
And fortunately – would you believe – the minister of justice in a letter.
‘I have a strong focus on the fact that police are citizens,’ writes Søren Pape Poulsen and makes clear that he has asked the Copenhagen Police to contact Lisbeth, so they can take a meeting.
But when Lisbeth finally sitting in front of the police, she gets a frustrating answer.
“You need to get Cecile to go, before we can do something about it here,” says a representative from the Copenhagen Police.
however, There is one problem.
Cecilie is so psychologically nedkørt in the summer of 2018, she simply does not have the energy to take the conversation with the police.
the Police have the mother’s descriptions of ekskærestens harassment, but choose not to proceed with the case.
And in spite of that, the letter states that She Supertotobet is afraid of ex-boyfriend, so is it also the Copenhagen Police, that a year after the ad three times forget to inform Cecilie, that ex-boyfriend are now on the exit from the prison.
the Information about the letter from mr Søren Pape Poulsen comes on top of that, B. T. Sunday could describe how Cecilie in the past two years has felt let down by the system on a large number of points.
And just the descriptions on Monday and scored a number of politicians up out of the chair to demand answers.
“This case is totally unacceptable. Where is the focus on the victim here? It is simply not reasonable,” says Karina Adsbøl, who is a member of the committee on legal affairs for the Danish people’s Party.
Karina Adsbøl has decided that she will take the contact to the justice minister Nick Hækkerup (S) to ask how he going forward will ensure that the system does not fail a victim, as is the case here.
The same is the case with the SF’s Karina Lorentzen, who will ask for an explanation from the minister.
“It’s a rædselsforløb, as the young woman has been exposed, and there is a big risk that one relives the whole trauma again, when the authorities actually contribute to the offender unfettered can continue to contact and harass the victim,” says SF’s spokesman, and continues:
“I will have a presentation for the entire course, and I will have to tighten up on the internal guidelines, so it does not happen again. And is there any lack of rules that allow that it can happen, so we must change the law.”
B. T. has contacted the minister of justice, Nick Hækkerup, and he tells that he is in the light of B. T.’s article have chosen to have looked the system through.
“I can live put me back into how uncomfortable it flows, which B. T. has described, must have been like for the victim. I have asked that we look at whether the procedures and rules of the game are screwed appropriate in light of the specific case,” he writes in an e-mail.
B. T. has contacted Police to hear about the meeting with Cecilies mother, but politikredsen informs that it has not been possible to clarify what has been said at the meeting.
