The First Vice President of the Government and Minister of Economic Affairs, Nadia Calviño, has disgraced the Vox spokesperson, Espinosa de los Monteros, that his formation “proposes distributing weapons” on the same day that 21 people have died in the shooting at a Texas school .
“What can you expect from a political formation that the day we are crying in dismay at a terrible massacre of children in the US proposes to distribute weapons to citizens?”, he stated during his confrontation in the control session with the Government in the Congress and after a question from the Vox spokesman about whether the Spanish trust the government’s economic policy.
Calviño’s words refer to statements by Santiago Abascal in 2019 in which the leader of Vox called for an “urgent radical change in the law” so that Spaniards can “have a weapon in their home”
that they can “use in situations of real threat” for self-defense.
After the controversy that arose, Espinosa de los Monteros, through Twitter, has denied the accusations of the first vice president, some words “repeatedly denied”, according to the spokesman for the formation.
“I can’t believe that the left, despite its natural delay, publishes today’s news a headline from three years ago that has been repeatedly denied,” he said, qualifying the story on Twitter with adjectives like “invent” or “fake news.”
«The worst thing is that since they are so clumsy, and they feed off each other, today Nadia Calviño has cited this ‘Fake News’ in parliament as if it were today’s news. They don’t care about everything. They are a shame », she added.
