The prosecutor has asked for the indictment of the former mayor of Foggia Franco Landella, the former president of the municipal council Leonardo Iaccarino and 15 other suspects – including former municipal administrators, municipal employees, entrepreneurs and ordinary citizens – involved in the investigation on alleged bribes to the Town Hall. The request was made by the deputies Roberta Bray and Enrico Infante, owners of the investigation. The preliminary hearing in front of the GUP has been set for next 7 July.

The investigation initially counted 14 suspects then rose to 17. Landella had resigned from his post as mayor in May last year and two months later, on 5 August, the Municipality was dissolved for mafia.
