Bihar Election Results 2024 LIVE: NDA Alliance Secures Victory Once Again
In a decisive victory, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi has emerged victorious in Bihar, securing 39 out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The alliance faced stiff competition from the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc led by Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi. Despite Mr. Kumar’s history of switching alliances, the NDA has maintained its stronghold in Bihar.
Caste demographics played a significant role in determining the outcome of key constituencies in Bihar. The seat-sharing formula allotted BJP 17 seats, JD(U) 16 seats, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) 5 seats, and smaller parties one seat each within the NDA alliance. On the other hand, the INDIA bloc comprised Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) with 23 seats, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) with 5 seats, Congress with 9 seats, and the Left parties with the remaining 5 seats.
The General Election in Bihar was conducted in seven phases, with varying voter turnouts in each phase. Despite initial challenges, the NDA alliance managed to maintain a lead in most constituencies, signaling a clear victory in the state.
Key battles were witnessed in constituencies such as Saran, where Lalu Prasad’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, contested against BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The late LJP leader Chirag Paswan’s bastion of Hajipur saw a face-off between LJP’s Shiv Chandra Ram and RJD. Additionally, Muslim-dominated seats like Kishanganj and Purnea witnessed tough three-way fights, showcasing the competitive spirit of the candidates.
In conclusion, the Bihar Election Results of 2024 have once again solidified the dominance of the NDA alliance in the state’s political landscape. With a clear majority in the Lok Sabha seats, the alliance has proven its popularity among the voters of Bihar.
