The tourist sector of Benidorm is going to make August in this month of June thanks to the celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of the Queen of England, who celebrates 70 years on the British throne. Some 15,000 Britons are going to stay at this destination, with 60,000 overnight stays on the bank holiday.

Thousands of families have taken the opportunity to schedule a vacation period, because the school year is also over, and Benidorm is among the preferred options in their country.

According to these data from the hotel group Hosbec, this market already accounts for 45% of the total on these dates, and the income from hotel accommodation caused by the celebration of Isabel II will amount to 6.3 million euros, so if you add the rest of consumption at destination this figure will double to 12 million.

The Miguel Hernández airport in Alicante-Elche has 206 flights scheduled for these four days with origin in the United Kingdom and destination Alicante with more than 38,000 scheduled seats, with which the positive impact of the jubilee will extend to the entire Costa Blanca of the province .

In addition, from Hosbec they have highlighted that “the effects of this festive bridge in the United Kingdom are much greater: a high percentage of tourists will extend their stay up to seven days on average.” And we must also count all those staying in campsites, tourist apartments and second homes, so the final impact will multiply these figures upwards.
