Newly promoted Rasta Vechta got off to a furious start to the Basketball Bundesliga season. Lower Saxony won on Thursday against Bamberg Baskets with 101:79 (46:48). The decisive factor for the success in the first game was the third quarter, which the hosts won 37:10. The most successful thrower for Vechta was Tommy Kuhse with 26 points. At Bamberg, Zach Copeland was the best thrower and collected 20 points. Rasta will welcome Telekom Baskets Bonn for the second game of the season on Sunday (3:30 p.m./Dyn).
